Club Notes
& Team Lists

After enjoying our last bye for the year the action heads down to Koondrook today where all teams will be chasing some good results.

A couple of weeks ago at Tooleybuc the seniors put up a brave fight against Balranald. 5 goals from Alex Powell ensured the boys were able to hit the scoreboard each quarter & get some reward for all their effort. Best Players – Tom Carland, Shane Foley, Sam Morton, Alex Powell, Peter Rothacker & Johnny Wardle. ALS Pewter Mug Award – Harper McNicol.

If you ever needed an example of good things happen to those who wait this is exactly what happened to the ressies. With a few old favourites returning the boys put in a dominant 4 quarter display to record their first win for the year. Best Players – Amini Cava, Nick Murphy, Jack Templeton, Brenton Chislett, Stephen Lyons & Jono Chislett.

The colts battled hard all game but in the end came up short. Best Players – Kal Hazlett, Jobhi Plant, Ashby Rogers, Jules Muir, Rylee Taylor & Jordan Caddy.

In what was a very entertaining game of footy the U14’s got on top after quarter time, with the boys eventually ending up winning by 25 points. Best Players – Campbell Fisher, Connor Hazlett, Rydar Morris, Jules Muir, Jacob Zanker & Callum Muir.

It was another strong performance by the U12’s with everyone putting in a great contribution.

Netball Notes:

A Grade – Our A Grade girls put up a strong fight and should be extremely proud of their efforts. Four consistent quarters of netball really proved that when we focus on our game plan we can mix it with the best in the competition. Taylen worked hard all day turning the ball over so we could capitalise. Well done to Zoe and Carlee who combined well to convert on the scoreboard.

A Reserve - Another win this week for A Reserve, who are still holding on to their finals chances. Eden fed beautifully into the ring, while Lones was strong again in defence. Summer also shot a solid 35 goals and played a composed game. Well done ladies!

B Grade – A determined B grade came out fighting against Balranald and were rewarded with the win. A strong performance by Carla in defence slowed the shooters down and some great mid court pressure by Chloe and Jess allowed the ball to smoothly flow down the court.

B Reserve – B Res went into this weeks game with a positive attitude and lots of determination.  Although stepping onto to the court with the loss of their main defenders, it didn't deter the girls at all. Faced with a completely different team to the one they faced the first time round, the girls were up for a challenge.  Scores level at the first quarter was a great start and continued into the second, however Balranald managed to get the jump and dominated the game in the end! The girls never giving up! Award winners were, Simone, Maddy, Ella & Keisha.

Under 18’s – The girls came out to play on Saturday and knocked off second placed Balranald by 7 goals. Pressure, effort and good decision making were key to the win. Awards to Emma Edo who stepped up to GA in Emily’s unfortunate absence and worked the goal ring beautifully with Summer and to Ella Foley who picked off a bag of intercepts.

Under 16’s – The 16’s faced a few challenges this week. The wet weather, proving how much they still have to learn even with all their wins. And of course Balranald putting up a fight. The girls all put in maximum effort and pulled off yet another win. Hayley and I are both proud of their efforts as coaches. Best on went to Kesha Andrew’s for her outstanding performance both in and out of the ring.

12 & Under – Our youngest netballers showed how much they have learnt this year with some beautiful pieces of play on Saturday. They used their channels well and moved the ball down the court in straight lines. They showed how much their catching had improved handling the wet conditions well. Well done to Matilda who keep turning the ball over on WD allowing us to capitalise.

GO SAINTS!
