ROUND  15 Versus Kerang

SOCIAL EVENTS-

Goods and Service Auction-A massive thank you to everyone who donated or bought an item. It was a very successful night to raise much needed funds for the future of our club. Thanks Tony and your team for organising and the “Kid’s Disco” was a hit also.

A HIGHLIGHT this week was our Under 12 Netball team having their first win-Congratulations!! Smiles all round

FOOTBALL:

It was a hard day on the ground for our Seniors with so many out injured. Coach Harry said the boys fought hard particularly for the first 2 quarters but were just overrun by a very strong side. Best players: Darcy McGregor-Grant’s Cleaning $50, Toby Sheehan-Power Roof Restoration $25, Jake Foster-Mallee Physio, Ayden Tessari-Elders Yeti, Angus McKenzie-Scarsy’s $50, Beau Bennett, Tom McGregor

Our Reserves had a big loss but ran out the game. Coach Ben said it was another great effort from our boys against a top 2 side. It was probably our best 4 quarter performance all year. Awards: Mardy McDonald, Caleb Nalder, Ben Shepherd, Jake Watson, Todd Day Henry, Daniel Lavey.

Our Colts lost 49-28. Coach Shotsy said it was a really good effort with the boys fighting it out all day. They had an opportunity to win the game against a very good team. Things didn’t go our way but he couldn’t fault the effort and endeavour by everyone. Top performers were Brodie Buying, Brooklyn Whitla, Harry McGregor, Wentworth Mitton, Corey Williams, Jonah Devlin

In the Under 14.5’s  we lost to a strong side. Best Players were Max Leguire, Blake Wright, Jobe Roberts, Charlie Kingwill, Hunter Wells. Kade Wells

Under 12’s . Coach Craige said the Eagles got on top of the Blues early in the game with goals from Mason and Chase Worner and a sneaky goal from Bo Brown. Even with the game well in control in the later stages, multiple tackles from Deakin Wright showed the commitment our juniors have helping secure another solid win. Best Players: Deakin Wright, Kell Parsons, Amon Roberts, Kade Wells, Archie mcCoombe, Jed O’Meara, Bo Brown, Tanner Duthie.

NETBALL

A Grade had a great win 86-35 which was a huge percentage booster for us nearing finals. Coach Vicki said our defence worked hard all day at limiting the opposition from scoring. Alicia Harvey played a fast game for 4 quarters and passing well into the ring. With Kellie away it was a great opportunity to use Jorja and Neveah in goals and they both combined well with Emelia. BOC Emelia Shannahan for her leadership and Tayla Anderson for her excellent defensive pressure.

A Res no game

B Grade had a convincing win 75-6 Coach Deb said they put pressure on from the start through great defensive turnovers and accurate shooting. Dee was strong in the ring in defence, Demi showed great run through the middle, Anna was strong in defence and bringing the ball down to Alyssa who was strong in centre court attack. B Res tried hard all day but were beaten 34-20. Coach Jo said it was a strong game with some great patches of play. We held in there for the first 3 quarters with lots of positive talk on the court. BOC Caitlin McKissack and Kari O’Reilly

U 18’s played Tooleybuc/Manangatang and lost 57-26. Coach Emelia said thanks to Tooleybuc for travelling to play us on their bye weekend. Awards went to Sam Mullan for her best game of the season with minimal errors and a few defensive turn overs. Our other award winner was Jordie Watson for some great leading and ball fakes.

Under 16’s lost 67-38. Coach Jess said the girls fought hard against a strong Kerang team. The girls did so well to manage lots of position changes with everyone trying their best. BOC Madi Onley for her court leadership and defence and Mia Hansen for her drives down the court and defensive pressure.

Under 14’s lost 39-26. Coach Deb said the girls had a tough game. The defence gave it their all trying to win the ball but found it difficult against the height of the Kerang goalies. Ou 4^th quarter was our best of the game. BOC Amber Brown and Kyra Croft.

Under 12’s won 10-8.  With Coach Loz away Deb said What a game!! These little pocket rockets were so determined to win this game from the very start they came out and contested everything. They put lots of pressure on the ball and got turnovers in defence. It was so exciting to win their first game and the roar at the end of the game was deafening!! BOC Stella Scott, Ava Bissett and Laine McKenzie.
