Club Notes
& Team Lists

Today we head to Cohuna with a number of important games for most grades as we get to the pointy end of the season.

Last week saw some wintry weather but some good performances were displayed against Tyntynder.

To last week’s results against the Bulldogs

Netball

The U12s netball braved the rainy conditions but came up against a strong Tyntynder side.  Girls will look to improve against the Kangas today.  Better players were Isla Beasy and Emi Lawry.  The U14s also tried hard but were no match in the end against the Bulldogs.  Better players were Daneaka Neushafer (Pizza Kitchen) and Sarah Vroljiks (Canteen).  It was a better result in the U16 netball with the girls teaming well to have a good win.  Better players were Milan Arentz (218) and Jaya Jenkins Jaiswal (Pearsons).  The U18 game was a thriller with Tyntynder getting over the line by just 2 goals.  It was a great game to watch.  Better players were Milla Scott and Ella Vroljiks.  B Res kept their good form going with a good win last week.  Award winners for the B Res were Rachael Moloney and Amy Pohlner.  It was a big game in the A Res with 2 of the best teams in the comp fighting it out with the Bulldogs winning on the day by 8 goals.  Award winners for the Swans were Karen Thamm (Swanbucks) and Georgia Craig-Neal (Aspire Jewellery).  It was a very young a grade side who played Tyntynder last week but the Swans came out winners quite well in the end.  They will be looking for the same against the Kangas today to cement their spot in the top 3.  Award winners Maeve Sheldrick (first A grade game) and Ingrid Condely.

Football

The U12s encountered wet weather footy last Saturday but continued on their winning way.  The boys are listening well to coaches Andy and Browny and look forward to finishing the season well.  The U14.5 side also played another good game and won well after being challenged early. Best players were Bodhi Kelly, Seamus Doherty, Koby McMillan, Steven Polglase, Paddy Hufer, and Hugh Langley-Sheldrick.  The colts have a number of must win games if they are to make finals and last week was one of them and the Swans came out on top.  Another big game against the Kangas today.  Best players last week were Jem Sibley, Riley McRae, Will Bennett, Jude Seymour, Sonny Beasy and Buol Majur.  The undermanned reserves side battled hard but couldn’t get over the line last week.  Best players were Brenton Halligan, Ben Pearse, Max Burns, Hayden Richards, Aidean Grinham and George Martin.  The senior game was one sided but Swans battled hard.  No easier this week against the top 3 Kangas but the boys are primed to have a “crack” today.  Better players last week were Matt Wade, Kal Heslop, Toby Thoolen, Darby Meney, Jared Halligan and Sam Coffey.

Social: Ladies Day – Saturday August 6

Good luck to all Swans against the Kangas today!
