NETBALL
A Grade won 59-50. With Vicki away sick Coach Meg said it was a high intensity game across the 4 quarters. We had great transitions of play with the girls gelling so well and the talk on the court was positive and loud. BOC Emelia Shannahan for her drive and determination and Tayla Anderson for her excellent defensive pressure.
A Res won 40-69 by playing 4 consistent and great quarters. They are able to adjust to any combination of players and continue to play as a well drilled team. BOC Jess Jobling for her great leads and many intercepts and Laura Fay who continues to work so well in defence and her drive through the mid court.
B Grade won 58-41. Coach Deb said she was extremely proud of her girls who withstood some tough opposition during the first half and really set themselves up for the last half with great fight and determination to win the ball. We played more freely in the 2nd half and capatilised on opportunities. BOC Jess Gaut, Demi Nolan.
B Res tried hard all day but were beaten by a big margin. Coach Anna said we had too many missed opportunities as we couldn’t make the most of the turn overs. However in the last quarter there were plenty of smiles with mixing around positions and who knows we may have a new goal shooter-Emma! BOC Anita McDonald and Sophie Hird.
U 18’s lost 39-32. Coach Emelia said it was a tough game but she was super happy with their effort. We missed our tall target Mikayla O’Meara. The girls are adjusting well to playing different positions each week which is good for their development. Best Players: Neveah Roberts, Danica Meehan
Under 16’s had another great win 37-15. Coach Jess said that all the girls put in a stellar performance. Best Players: Madi Johnson for her defensive efforts and Alix O’Meara for her voice and leadership on the court.
Under 14’s had a tough game in the wet going down 33-16. Coach Deb said they fought hard and saved their best to the last quarter where they had some great passages of play. BOC Clancy Devlin and Ryley Fogarty.
Under 12’s had another tough game in the wet. This made it hard for us to get a good run on as the ball and courts were slippery. Our defensive end was strong and played well for 4 quarters but we just couldn’t combat the accuracy of the Woorinen shooters. BOC-Ava Bissett, Jazmine Suton, Georgia Martin
