Back home the other week to take on the Tigers in a big game for both sides. Another “brisk” winter’s day, but a good crowd in attendance.
Seniors
We can’t seem to get the troops back together at the minute but again opportunities for those coming in.
The boys were up for the fight but so were the Tigers; they brought fierce pressure from the start and landed the early blows. Unfortunately, we couldn’t produce the crisp ball movement and link up play we’re accustomed to and turned the ball over too often. Woorinen showed that they won’t give up their crown without a fight. Hopefully, we’ll get another crack at them at the business end of the season.
Best players: Marty Kelly, Josh Nitschke, Lachie Ross, Troy Davis, Jesse Clark, Josh Hunter
Reserves
Well, the Ressies encountered their first loss on Saturday to a very committed outfit. Best player was Bobby Hall on a back flank who tried his big heart out all day to win the BK Publishing award. Ethan McKnight played well repelling Woorinen also off the half back line, winning himself his old man’s award, the Grub McKnight Concreting award. Cody Touhey was another who tried all day, he collects the Andy Gray Plumbing award. Kel Adams flashed in and out all day to win himself the Can Bar award; well done Kel. Fihar played his best game of the year to win the Coaches award; great job Fihar.

The mercy rule came into place in the third quarter as the boys continue playing great footy and bringing home the wins. Young Kai from the 12s kicked the first goal with Harvey booting three and Flynn and Jacko two each. Hugh Bremner was his usual best along with Flynn. Logan Gibson was strong and it was great to see all the boys playing great footy.
