U12’s
A fantastic effort by the U12s, even though we lost by 3 in a tight tussle, all players gave 110% all game and never gave up. Very proud of their efforts! Awards went to Ella Whateley and Maddyn Free.
U14’s
The 14s girls had another great win 36-6 despite having 3 players away and taking the court with a very different line up. Ava Crow was a little pocket rocket in goals and Maya Treweek chased down every ball, earning them best player honours.
U16’s
Under 16’s had another tough game against Swan hill this week fighting hard through all 4 quarters and improving on last week. Best Players: Dekoda Barber and Sofie Mazzotta who both stepped up and played their part
U18’s
U18’s suffered a convincing loss to swan hill. With key players away, illness and injury plaguing our performance it was an uphill battle. Hove worked tirelessly in defence to earn herself a game day award as did Zoe Steicke in goals. Hopefully our next game brings more joy.
B res
B Res girls went down in a tough battle to undefeated and top of the ladder team, Swan Hill. The girls were able to main a 4 goal difference up until fourth quarter where they went down by 10.
B Res girls were lucky enough to have three juniors fill the gaps of 4 missing players.
Best Players: Nic Pye and Chloe Twentyman.
B Grade
B grade had a great win on the week weekend, with the whole court pressure and a strong defensive end. Best Players: Gaby Rogers and Greta Miller
A Res
With great plays across the court by both teams, the Swans were the better side on the day winning by 9 goals. Best Players: Jacinta Siciliano and Gwennie Thompson for their determination and run all game.
A Grade
The A Grade girls went down in a tough battle to top spot Swan Hill. We were able to keep with them well in the first quarter, however struggled to maintain this through the game. Best players went to Jaimee Beasy and Emily Siely.
Football
Under 10’s
We had our first under 10 hit out, thanks to the SHFNC for reaching out and supporting this concept that we put forward over the summer- it was a HUGE success and is crucial for early game sense development.
The top age Auskickers are all ready for the game tackling and running around and the pure joy on their faces was special.
Thanks to all the helpers, Tim Phillips for umpiring, Murph for directing the forwards, Brad Morpeth for Goal Umpire and to all the parents for supporting the concept- a highlight for the year for me personally!
Under 12’s
A beautiful Saturday morning and the team hosted a fast and well drilled Swans team.
We worked really hard on learning to start next to our player, and when we did this we played well.
Well done to all players on a great game and was good to see so many players listen and learn.
Under 14.5’s
The boys went in last week with an undermanned team against a strong relentless swan hill side. As a club we were very proud to see how all involved kept their heads up and battled right through to the final siren showing great Team ethics all together.
Shaun Kirby really stood tall down back with his applied pressure and led the way.
Best Players: Shaun Kirby, Hudson Garner, Billy Matthews, Bailey Bowd & Jett Bolton
Colts
Well what a heart stopper, the Colts boys were able to get the job done on Saturday by 3 points. It was a great game of football and a bit of a shootout. Mitch was able to slot a goal with about a minute to go and put us in front and the boys held on for the win. Rayden Garner took out best on ground and was solid in defence all day playing his role.
Best Players: Rayden Garner, Cooper Beasley, Oscar Thornton, Hudson Garner & Tyson Zucco
Reserves
Round 11 at home hosting Swan Hill and the boys took control of the game from the first bounce and ran away with the game and a comfortable win.
Every player put in 100 percent with stand outs being Skidda kicking 10 goals and Hubba covering a lot of ground and also kicking 2 goals.
Best Players: Skidda, Hubba, Baldy, lsma, Kruges and Lolly.
Seniors
On a big day of celebrations for the club the boys ended up with a solid win. 5 goals to 3 in the first quarter was a good start by both sides however the game fell away in the next quarter. The move of Wrighty forward seemed to straighten us up a bit and from then on we took control and the game opened up. Taylor and Rushy provided plenty of run and Doey continued the grunt work on the inside.
A good win in front of a great reunion crowd that appreciated the game.
Best Players: Wrighty, Taylor, Doey, Rushy, Kingy & Matty G
