The Raiders ventured to our near neighbour Kerang last Saturday to hopefully turn our fortunes around, but it didn't happen!. To make matters worse we found out that day that our coach in Darren Troy got the dreaded Covid overnight at the Kerang reunion, so that put him out of action. So Paddy Goble and Dean Lake took the reigns for the day and did it admirably. Surely we can get some of our injured players back for our next game, our run of bad luck has got to end soon!. The Ressy's, another loss, but as for our Colts, how good are they going, a game that was still up for grabs at the last change, the young Raiders put the pedal to the metal in the final qtr. and ran away with a fantastic win. Whoever formulated our draw did a very poor job with it putting us up against the top five sides five weeks in a row, what was he or she thinking!. Huge congrats. to one of our legends in Matt Dean on reaching the milestone of 350 games with the Raiders, a fantastic achievement plus he has been a one club player. Matt has certainly got the club at heart as he not only puts in on the field, he is very involved off the field with our juniors & helps with many other things in the club, these sort of people are hard to come by, so accolades to you Matt from everyone at the Raiders FNC.

Onto our footy, it wasn't all bad for the Seniors, we did match them in the first half but once again we struggled in the second half, up till this Satdy we have not been able to put a full team on the paddock which doesn't help!. The positive is we are getting fitter and maybe another win or two is a chance before the end of the season. Awards went to Jack Shannon (Raiders Man of the Day), Jordan Iducia  (Royal Hotel Barham), Warren Lolicato (Barham Hotel), and Max Baldissera (Nthn Tree Fellas), others to play well were Owen our ruckman and Matty Dean. Again well done to Eli Boyd, Jasper-Wilson Keir, Josh McMahon & Lachy Laursen, all eligible Colts players who made the step up.

The Ressy's, another loss, they are slowly digging a hole for themselves at the moment, three in a row now but still in the five, just!. Okay two of them were against top sides, the other loss, well let's not talk about that one. Awards went to Sam Barr (Wes Hare Spraying Services "Scooby of the Day), Jade Stewart (Royal Hotel Barham), Jack Lambert (Barham Hotel), and young Colts player Jye Mc Gowan got the (Raiders Canteen award). 

The Colts, what can we say but a superb win by the boys, playing the 2nd placed side and without a couple of their good players the boys acepted the challenge and ran out very good winners with a great team effort. But, the tough games continue to come, top side Lake Boga is next so another challenge for them. Once again if you get a chance to watch these boys play do so!. Awards went to Eli Boyd (Royal Hotel Barham), Nick Frankling (Don Taylor Pen), Ben Miller (Lane's Electrical Socks), Lachy Laursen (Wilma Bott Canteen Award), and the Coaches Award went to Trinity Starr and Will Patten. A really good team effort by each and everyone of the players.

On a sad note the Koondrook Barham FNC extend to the Eagle family our sincere condolences on the passing of Neil, he was a regular follower of the Raiders and a pure gentleman at that.

Back to Raiders Central this weekend to tackle the Lake Boga Magpies, they are going okay in most grades so challenges in each game for us, are we up to it, course we are!. After the game a huge function with "Bogan Bingo" taking place!
