Ultima v Murrabit Club Notes:

Football:

U/14.5’s

It was our first win for the year in the U/14.5’s and they all played a ripping game to get the points.  It was good to see Rory Bell back on the park after a delayed start to the season and he led from the front.  Olly and Nate have been welcomed additions to the squad and the bigger kids are helping the little kids gain some confidence.  Well done.

U/17.5’s

The thirds also had their first win for the year and are showing some great form.  They are a very talented, committed group of kids who are great to have around the club.  The older kids all played well against Murrabit and the younger ones play their role when they can. Parker went to full forward for a stint and hit the score board and Jack and Eddie are doing all the right things each week.   Great job Billy and Bo.

Reserves:

The reserves boys are on top of the ladder and should be pretty happy with beating last years premiers in Murrabit.  With high numbers and plenty hitting the training track regularly, it is causing some headaches for the coaches at selection however it is getting results on the field which is great.  Jordan King is in fine form and there has to be 5-6 others also putting their case forward for senior selection.

Seniors:

The Senior game was another success making it 4 from 4 in the football.  Two inclusions that were exciting to see was Kyle back in after injury and Kade getting an opportunity after a long absence from senior footy.  Shagga O’Reilly is a battering ram and throws himself into pack after pack each week and Coops had the difficult task of standing Cupido and Coops did an outstanding job. A soft tissue injury to Rizza is disappointing as he has been in vintage form and will be hard to cover however there are many in the two ready to go.

Netball:

U12s:

Proud of the girls for giving it their all today. It’s great to see skills developing each week!

This week we welcomed Ivy into our team permanently and she played well. Great game by everyone today, a real team effort! Lexi and Ella played really well in defence, Scarlet and Emily shot well and mid court never gave up. Really proud of everyone’s efforts!

It was great to get another win in the U17s today. Hopefully we can continue to build on our strong start to the season.

Had a lucky win, wasn’t our best day out. No awards given out this week, have to earn them! But they did learn if you keep going you do get there, very proud of them for that.

B-Grade:

Really happy with our game today, our defensive pressure from everyone was outstanding.  Still need to work on a few things at training.

A fantastic first half of the game by our girls.  Defensive efforts across the court were really good by everyone. We will keep working hard to come together and build on our game each week.  Keep it up girls!

Round 5 Preview:

This week we welcome Moulamein FNC to the Ultima Rec Reserve for a top of the table clash in the Seniors.  Good luck to all teams on the netball courts and football oval and don’t forget to stick around after the game for our marquee event…. ‘Groovin the Roo’.  Our social committee are doing a fantastic job again this year so get involved.
