Under 12s

Against a much taller Hay team, our little U12s did not show any fear at all.  Ayla didn't stop in the defence end, getting her finger tips to a few and Lily was also excellent in the air.  Little Paige could have ran between Hays legs, but didn't give up once.  The mid court in Mackenzie, Blair & Alannah move well with no crowding, getting their 3ft and arms up to every ball.  Our goal end in Bella, Eviee and Ruby, worked very hard to pass around the tall girls into the goal circle.  Well done Bella on her 2 goals and Ruby on her 1.   Scores didn't show how well our little team did. Unfortunately, we went down by 30.  Terrific Tiger award ( Pizza award ) went to Lily for her amazing game with so many intercepts and Mackenzie won the Amazing Achiever award ( Tiff Bartram) for her encouraging voice and great play in the mid court.

Under 14.5 Football:

The long drive to Hay on a cold, rainy morning set the scene for the 1v2 clash on Hay's home ground. The boys settled well and delivered strongly into the forward line. Some rushed kicks put the majority of points on the board in the first quarter. As the game progressed, our structure improved and closed out any chance of Hay hitting the scoreboard. Some great centre work from Jaxon O'Rourke and Cooper Carmichael, with Finn Cullen and Will Longstaff linking passages of play from the back to the forward. Ewan Ray was strong in defence cleaning up and even went forward for a goal! Well done boys!

Goal kickers: C. Carmichael (4), T. Lacy (3), J. O'Rourke (3), W. Longstaff (1), E. Ray (1)

Best: H. Pearson, E. Ray & J. O'Rourke

Under 14s

Another hard week on the score board. However, the girls showed their persistence and love of the game by never dropping their heads.  The girls tried new positions and did very well with the mix up. Cienna Caldwell stepped up from under 12s doing a fantastic job in WA - getting the ball front on and defending with big arms. The defensive pressure the team showed across the whole game shows great promise, especially the first few minutes of the 4th quarter, where Hay struggled to score.  Best on from Your Support went to Indi Crilly - her first ever netball game, who played a blinder in GK and coaches award to Grace Carter for being a little “pocket rocket” and never once giving up. Can’t wait to see what the weeks ahead bring. This team is beginning to gel and shows great promise.

Under 17.5 Football:

The boys were switched on from the start today, they moved the ball really well and looked after each other all game. They did everything we asked of them and it was a great team effort. Very proud of the boys and we're looking forward to next week!

Goal kickers: B. Forster (3), B. Wishart (3), L. Farrell (3), W. Meharry (2), E. Glass (1), A. Glass (1), X. Wishart (1), J. Warren (1), D. Cullen (1)

Best: B. Forster, S. Whinfield & D. Smith

Under 17s started strong, putting into practice all of the work that we have been doing at training. The girls were making some beautiful leads and playing great netball. Hay’s great goaling accuracy and defensive pressure hurt us on the score board. A great game by all of the girls, awards went to Miley Anset for listening to coaches feedback and making clear and direct leads for her team and to Maddy Hore who applied great defensive pressure all day. Final scores Hay 59 defeated Macorna 17

B Reserve had their work cut out for a second week in a row this season, when facing the top of the B Reserve leaderboard, Hay. Height, goal accuracy and passing, and strong defence, were decidedly against our B Ressies. Despite their valiant efforts to work the ball down the court through channels, regain possession through an increased number of impressive turnovers in the centre-third, there was not enough time on the clock or energy left in the tank to do so. With Hay taking the win, 53 - 31.  Thank you to Katrina Toma, B Grade, for joining us in B Reserve this week. Congratulations to our Round 4 ‘Best on Court’, Sherri Sutherland, and ‘2nd Best on Court’, Leeza Wishart, for demonstrating consistency in their game play today, seizing and creating opportunities to intercept and turnover the ball throughout, as well as having their teammates backs on numerous occasions.  Some key focus areas were again highlighted for us to work on in the week coming. Keep putting that money in the bank. ‘Til next Hay round, Ressies!

B GRADE are on the board!  We played a beautiful game from the get go and used channels in attack and body on in defence to earn our first win for the year. It was a great game to be apart of. Feels like we are finally getting into some groove now as a team. Awards went to Leah Carter and Cora Borchard.

Reserves:

A massive effort from the boys today, with a short side due to Covid, we are looking forward to seeing Hay again with our full side. Excellent win today fellas, let's hit the track and show Murrabit what we're capable of! Up and about, go tiges!

Goal kickers: P. Longstaff (5), M. Comer (3), C. Wilson (2), P. Wishart (2), C. Edge (1), A. Kirby (1), D. Hausler (1), J. Stevenson (1)

Best: P. Longstaff, C. Edge & L. Thompson

A GRADE had the lead all game against some strong Hay defenders we managed to get the job done. Some highlights were Sel shooting 11 in a row at 100% in the first quarter and Wishy shooting 9 in a row in the third quarter. Della was again huge for us in defence . The Wishy sisters got the awards with Emmalea Wishart getting best on and April Wishart getting second.

Seniors:

The long trek to Hay this week and it's never an easy task. The boys led for three quarters with a see saw affair. Lachlan Ritchie with a lazy 8 goals for the day, but the boys run out of puff in the last. We had 6 players playing two games of football and they put in a vallant effort. But fitness was our biggest issue, get back on the track fellas, stick together, wins don't come cheap. Working together starts Tuesdays and Thursdays, then on a Saturday.

Goals: L. Ritchie (8), H. Mason (3), S. Haffenden (1), T. Whinfield (1)

Best: J. Featherby, H. Somerville & X. Wishart
