Today we face Hay in the mighty NSW battle, a game which promises to be the highlight of the round. As we have only played two games, the side is slowly starting to gel and bring warmth to the heart of all Moulamein supporters.
Today we learnt what pressure is and how to overcome it. It was a fabulous first half of pressure football, and we overcame in the second half to win by about six goals. Moulamein, whilst having many good players, the best this week was not the same as last week. It was a fantastic game, and a half-time speech by the coach with many unmentionable words stirred the players, and they proved that they were indeed the hunted—a job well done.
Best Players: Amos Farrell, Nathan Buckley, Morgan Turvey, Luke Shannon, Andy Silva, Kaylem Hartley
Goal Kickers: - Andy Silva 5, Daniel Aarsman, Lochlan Prentice, Khy Stovell 2, Blake Azzopardi, Nathan Buckley, Ely Miller, Lochlan Phillips 1
Final Score Moulamein 15 – 16 – 106 v Macorna 10 – 9 – 69
We saw little of the reserve game today as we were involved elsewhere. From my observation, the reserves never gave up and gave their all for the team. We have a lot of ability and talent in the group, and when we click lookout, we will be unbeatable.
Best Players: - Grant Kaylock, Caleb Scandolera, Lachie Martin, James Moroney, Jesse Wilson, Aaron Kaylock
Goal Kickers: - Caleb Scandolera, Travis Pryor 2, Ethan Miller, Matthew Moroney, Reese Smith 1
Final Score Moulamein 7 – 6 – 48 v Macorna 17 – 8 – 110
it is a pity that the under 17.5 team is constantly short of quality players, and fill-ins are required, and this is detrimental to the entire side is when they have enough players, they are a top-four contender. I enjoy watching the under 17.5. In some of the football played, you have to see the players' skill level and how they play football. This side has the makings of a great team.
Best Players: - Caleb Scandolera, Ethan Miller, Lenny Ivers, Archie Miller, Angus Jones, Lochlan Prentice
Goal Kickers: - None provided
Final Score Moulamein 2 – 4 – 16 v Macorna 18 – 5 – 113
Moulamein gave their all but was outclassed by a better side on the day.
Best players: - Archie Miller, Tyson McKenzie, Nate Ewart, James Kelly, Lawson Buckley, Charlie Chambers
Goal Kickers: - none
Final Score Moulamein 0 – 0 – 0 v Macorna 30 – 14 – 194
Netball
If ever there has been a better pre-finals game, this was it. Allie-Mae played one of the best games I've ever seen her play and was involved all over the court. Madison Wild (I'm guessing 196 cm) took on a similar height as the goalkeeper from Macorna, which was worth the entrance fee. It was a great tussle, and with Meg backing up was always tricky for Macorna to overpower Moulamein. Courtney is one of the quietest players I've ever seen, played a blinder today. With Stevie leading the way with some superb play, Breigh Vistrini gave her all and a great display of netball. This team is outstanding,
Best Players: - BOC Ally-Mae Buckley, Breigh Vistrini, Meg Rooney, Courtney Atkins
Final Score: - Moulamein 38 v Macorna 23
I did say last week that this could be a very good side, and they proved it again. When a side can beat Macorna at Macorna, they must be good. The coach was very impressed and stated that everyone gave 110%, which is outstanding. With the netball being so good, I missed some of the football, but games like these are rare, and two exceptional sides played excellent netball.
Best Players: - BOC Mandy Champion, Rhia Chalmers, Megan Starick, Nicole Fitzpatrick
Final Score: - Moulamein 36 v Macorna 25
We didn't see the game, but according to the coach, everyone played well and never gave in, which is a credit to the Moulamein football netball club. These girls are very valiant; in previous days, they just loved playing netball.
Best Players: - BOC Meganne Bath, Felicity McCauley, Kirra Sait, Mia Bennett
Final Score: - Moulamein 23 v Macorna 54
What a game this was. It had quick passes, great goal-shooting, great defence and a few oopsies. The result of a draw did not reflect how both sides played. Unfortunately, these things happen in netball and will happen again. So, all one can say is onward we go, and next week we play just as well. There should be a golden goal so there is a winner.
Best Players: - BOC Skye Prentice, Mia Bennett, Chloe Wilson, Charlotte Burnside
Final Score: - Moulamein 26 v Macorna 26
From the desk of the coach as we did not see this game.
The girls played a great game today and got up with their first win. I'm proud of the way they played as a team and the effort that they played with today.
Best Players: - BOC Jie Ann Edullantes, Tarlia McGlashan, Amy Gorey, Paige Pattern
Final Score: - Moulamein 19 v Macorna 16
Hot Dog Challenge is back this year.
The all-important hot dog rating (the pres. (Neville) said it would be hard, and it was) today's hot dog was excellent, so a 9.1 would be very fair.
AT home this week look forward to some grand victories.
REMINDER:
After the game is the player's auction which promises to be a fabulous night of entertainment
