A friend told me, "A lot of football success is in the mind. You must believe you are the best and then make sure you are". Moulamein is capable of many quests and should believe that we can climb any football mountain in front of us, so today, we must climb that mountain and WIN.

An Opening comment on the Season Commencement.

The Golden Rivers Football League football season starts on Saturday. I love football. It's one of the manliest sports played today. Coaches strategize in their war room and line up against their opponents. Victory is measured in a greater number of goals and points kicked, in how well one unit outmaneuvers the other. The game involves brute strength and keen physicality; it is a hand-to-hand battle at times, with one man struggling against another. And yet, at the same time, finesse, agility, and brilliant strategies are requisites for success and a team lives or dies solely on how well they work together as a team, as a unit.

Success in football and Netball requires heart, pride, and teamwork. Success in life requires the same.

The same happens in the Netball arena dedication and desire abound, and the Moulamein Swans are no different from any other side in the competition. We have a fierce desire to win and play hard but fair, and the super coach will enforce the team rules.

Football

Seniors, Reserves and U17.5

As they say, we are training the house down and will unveil some magic in the recruits. I look forward to playing Murrabit, as we always have great games, and this will be a pointer to the season. All Moulamein teams look forward to the season's commencement, and this scribe expects to win all games. I trust you will all get behind Moulamein and follow the new code of conduct. Any unacceptable behaviour and you will be escorted from the ground. Repeated offences will bring penalties.

Now for the dance, Moulamein has recruited well, and in the coming weeks, we will unveil the new players. Expect the old firm from last year to be back fit and ready to rock and roll, along with some inclusions from the reserves, and we deserve to be the hunted, not the hunter.

Netball

The netball teams have recruited very well; we expect exciting things to happen this year.

Stevie Bibby is back as the new A-grade coach. Stevie is a legend in many leagues, and we are joyous that we have been able to recruit her.

We also have added new players this season in all grades, and believe me when I say Moulamein netball is in for a glorious year; watch this space.

We will introduce the new players during the season and believe me when I say magic; they indeed are magic.

Murrabit always has great teams, and this will be a great way to start the season with victories in all grades.

Hot Dog Challenge is back this year.

Hot dogs, in my language, are pure heaven.

There is a rotating dinner tonight starting at 6 pm. Lots of games and frivolity will abound. The cost will be $25 for a beautiful night
