Today we take on our closest neighbour in the demons at Nyah in what shapes as a great day of action for all our teams.
Last week we hosted the Mallee Eagles at Tooleybuc in what turned out to be a lopsided affair in favour of the visitors. The goals started flowing for the Eagles inside the first minute of the game with the boys unable to peg back the margin as the game went on. Best Players – Blake Grant, Tim Auckland, Jack Mazzarella, Mitch Grant, John Wardle & Connor McDonald.
The ressies had a great contest against a strong Mallee Eagles side with the boys managing to keep the scoreboard ticking over every quarter. Best Players – Jono Chislett, Amini Cava, Koby Stanley, Lachie Gleeson, Sam Morton & Kal Hazlett.
The colts got some reward for all their hard effort they have put in so far this season by putting in a strong 4 quarter effort to run out 10 goal winners. Best Players – Rylee Taylor, Kal Hazlett, Brayden Caddy, Jacob Zanker, Lex Wilson & James Barry.
The U14’s continued on their winning way this time inflicting the mercy rule on their undermanned opponents. Best Players – Jedd Morris, Julian Muir, Connor Hazlett, Rydar Morris, Campbell Fisher & Cal Muir.
The U12’s game was a very entertaining contest involving a lot of end to end football with everyone putting in a great effort.
Netball Notes:
A Grade- The girls started off on fire showing how much they have started to come together as a team. But the height of the Mallee Eagles goalers became too much. But some very promising signs. Score: 35-79. Awards: Taylah Morris (Beauty Spot) & Summer Blachford (Meal).
A Reserve – Came up against a strong Mallee Eagles side. Awards went to our defenders for applying pressure throughout the game against their accurate opposition. Score: 25-55. Awards: Leonie (Meal) & Abbie (Poppy and Lola).
B Grade – With a last minute change to the starting line up the girls adjusted quickly and tried their hardest but Mallee Eagles were too strong on the day. With the team still unsettled, we look forward to the improvements in the coming weeks. Score: 20-75. Awards: Imica (Poppy & Lola) & Jess (Thursday Dinner).
B Reserve – The girls tried hard all day, with heads staying high! They have been improving each week as we begin to settle in as a team and it’s been starting to show on the court!
Under 18’s – The scoreboard was not a true indication of the contest . The girls applied great defensive pressure all over the court and had some great passages of play into attack. Looking forward to getting all our players back in the coming weeks. Score: 33-62. Awards: Ella (Canteen) & Summer (Pizza).
Under 16’s- Slow start for the first half but a half time refresh seen the girls pick up the intensity and finish strong. Fantastic team effort and defensive pressure by everyone. Score: 37-27 Awards: Jayda (@ 41) & Lulu (Canteen).
Under 14’s – The girls tried hard against a more experienced team. Awards: Tess & Beau(Canteen) & Asha (Pizza Cafe @40).
12 & Under’s - These girls keep getting better and learning more about how to play netball. They are practising their skills so they can better understand their role for each position. Another great win. Well done girls. Score: 27-7. Awards: Chloe Mazzarella (Canteen) & Milla Gadsen (Face Mask).
