It was a fantastic week last week with Michael Hurley donning the maroon and white. Michael booted 4 goals and it was a great experience for our young players to play with someone straight out of AFL. His talk with Tommy Dullard afterwards was also fantastic listening. Thank you to Chris Smith, Tom Dullard and of course Michael Hurley for all of this being a great success.
Today we travel down to Cohuna to take on the Kangs in which there will be some great action on the court and field.
To last week’s results:
Netball
The U12 girls tried hard in their game against the Demons but couldn’t get the win. They had a lot of fun and are improving each week. Award winners Sienna Anderson (McDonalds) and Emi Lawry (Swanbucks). The U14 side played a nice brand of netball and recorded a good win against the Demons. Award winners Zoe Brooks (Cocko $10) and Milla Pearson (Swan bucks). The U16s had a big win last week. They are a very talented side. Award winners Isla Beasy (Pizza Kitchen) and Izzy Angus (McDonalds). The U18s had a massive win last week and moved the ball very well around the court. Award winners Peyton Cuttrell (Cocko award) and Jaya Jenkins (Swanbucks). B Res had a good mix of youth and experience and won well against Nyah. Well done to Ella Vroljiks and Grace Doherty who played their first senior games last Saturday. Award winners Clare Robertson (Holts) and Kaylie Halligan (Meagan Kelly massage). It was a close game in the B grade with the game going down to the wire. Unfortunately it was Nyah who got over the line by 3 goals. Award winners Amy Simpson (Beauty Spot) and Chelsea Mazzeralla (ARC). A Res side played very well last week and are having a good season. They will be looking to improve gain this week against the Kangas. Award winners Holly Rogers (Meagan Kelly Massage) and Carly Marie Clark (Holts). A Grade were also very impressive last week and are showing they will up near the top again this year. Award winners Ingrid Condely (SH Demo Group) and Jennea Jenkins (218).
Football
The U12 side won their third game in a row last week. They are teaming very well and playing a good brand of football. Nyah got a jump on the U14.5 side but was close after that with the team going down by only 13 points. Better players Tyler Marold, Lenny Ryan, Sam Scott, Sam Brown, Lane Cardenas, Owen Uebergang. Colts had a good win last week. This side is a good side to watch. They have a couple of weeks off and will be back to take on the Roos in 3 weeks. Better platers were Koby McMilla, Bodhi Kelly, Seamus Doherty, Mitch Hinton, Riley McRae, and Harry Graham. The reserves had a good side on paper but couldn’t get the job done. They will be looking to bounce nack against the Kangas today. Better players were Buol Majur, Spence McKenzie, Jayden Boutkan, Jack Charleson, Conner Arif, Darcy Conway. The seniors were obviously buoyed by the inclusion of Michael Hurley and played well to record their second win of the season. Big challenge against the kangas today but the boys are keen to “have a crack”. Better players Toby Thoolen, Jarvis Keogh, Wil Bennett, Jose Miliado, Adam Manning and Tom Holdstock.
Good luck to all Swans at Cohuna today!
