Special mention to Juan Kruger and Chris Conyers who played their first games of football, Welcome to Tigerland. Juan showed great tackling pressure and also kicked his first goal and Chris attacked the ball and was a key performer in our defence. Our on-ballers including Shaun Kirby, Blake Mazzarella, Jett Bolton and Elwood Stacey lead the way with Elwood having a stand out game.
Award winners were Seth Morgan, Juan Kruger, Chris Conyers, Eli Bedggood, Declan Tregenza and Jett Bolton.
Colts
The boys got their season underway against the dogs after receiving a forfeit in round one. They must have been jumping at the bit to finally get a game of footy in as they kicked 6 unanswered goals in the first quarter. Overall it was a solid four quarter effort right across the board from everyone, even the 14s boys that come up after a game found plenty of the footy. Both coaches were left impressed at how well the boys played as a team and the way they moved the footy from end to end. Hugh Thompson and Will Rush both played great games from the midfield, also drifting forward to kick 5 goals each. The back six all had terrific games, led by captain Otto Conlan. Hudson Garner, Harper Holland and Adam Saunders rounded out the best players.
Reserves
The ressies boys went out against a depleted Tyntynder reserves side and put the foot down very early in the game moving the ball very well and setting up scoring options. Throughout the game our on ball brigade was very good and our back six kept turning the ball back for the forwards to continue to cause headaches for their opposition. Once again Jack Atkin-Smith was busy and he would have loved having Hubba and Skidda (even though he didn’t want to play on ball) along side him. Skidda kicked the lazy seven and Jason Iannucci was busy again with six.
Best Players were Jack Atkin-Smith, Jason I, Skidda, Kruges, Hubba and Matt I.
Seniors
Great day at the Den and the senior boys didn’t let down the large Tiger supporter base that turned up at the Den. The game didn’t reach the heights that it was thought it may have but the footy that was played by our boys was great to watch. Shop had a great day in the ruck and set up our onballers all day giving them the option to force the ball forward and when the ball went down back Henry and Butters were busy all day. Special mention to Will Collicoat for a great game kicking six goals also. Think he might have been a bit up and about Saturday night.
Best Players: Henry (Smiley) Thompson, Jye, Will Collicoat, Butters, Shop & Mitch Uhlhorn
This week we go to Balranald with games that will be worth the trip up to watch. Get around all of our teams and support them strong. On the way home drop into the Tooleybuc Club for a meal.
