When did you first come to Wandella FNC: - I came to the club last year as Zig’s better half.
People at Wandella you would:
Who is the next big thing at Wandella & why: Emilie Lancaster, Ruah Fagiri, Montana Keating and Elly Spencer - have entered into their senior side guns blazing. They work extremely hard in our senior grades. They will be playing lots of Senior netty to come.
Name 3 people at Wandella you would want to isolate with & why: Brookey - very organised and brings oranges and lollies to netball. Zig - cause he can cook. Megsy - cause I’ll need someone to drink with
Name 3 people at Wandella you would want to AVOID isolating with & why: Emilie, Ruah and Elly - they make me feel old and I can’t keep up with them.
Fav Food: Pasta (when the sauce is made by a wog)
Fav Drink: Tequila sunrise
Fav movie: Nemo
Fav sporting memory: Still to come at Wandella (hopefully this year) but playing with Brooke Williams is always a favourite thing to do and coaching has been a highlight.
Describe Wandella: Family oriented but can still have a good time
Round 8 Highlights
As is often the case, the average age of the ressies rose for the journey to Hay as Ziggy twisted every arm at the club to fill his side. A couple ‘well seasoned’ veterans in Dicko & Turtle joined regular 2022 veterans Bill & Waddy. Turtle thought he would show the boys how the reigning GRFNL Reserves premiership captain gets the job done (hope the boys took notes), while Dicko thought running the bench in the seniors didn’t make his day stressful enough. It must’ve been a chilly job patrolling the goalsquare all game as both of the inclusions were repping the long sleeves. From all reports the gentlemen came through the game unscathed and managed to grab the win as well. Congrats fellas, surely Ziggy will be twisting the arm again this week!
Final mention to Crackers who somehow managed to find some space between Turtle and Dicko in the goalsquare to squeeze through three snags for the game. As promised, he outgunned Coach Logan in front of the big sticks which I think was drawn to Loges’ attention once or twice…
Some exciting games amongst our junior teams at Hay as well, albeit for differing reasons. The U/17’s girls played out a thrilling draw while the U/14’s boys had a big win. In a battle of two top 4 teams, the girls were evenly matched on the day proving some great depth across the competition, following the result our girls continue to hold 3rd spot on the ladder.
The early start didn’t deter the U/14 boys as they continued to cement top spot on the ladder with a big win. Hopefully they carry their form after the bye and Coach Chum has them set for a big finals run.
Social Club Update
A big shout out to Dil, Crello & Knackers for driving the buses to Hay. Not a single player was left behind and not a single kangaroo was nudged, great stuff fellas! Word has it that Radda has volunteered to drive next year to avoid all the unscheduled stops that he needed this year.
Tonight after hosting Moulamein, it’s 90s night!! Look forward to everyones’ turtle neck sweaters and Baywatch outfits. The night will include an ipod shuffle and revealing the winners of our Reverse Draw. The footballers are on dinner duty so everything is guaranteed to run very smoothly in the kitchen. Hope to see everyone there for another great night!
GO BOMBERS!!
