Football

With the one of the longest trips in country footy, the Hay Lions made the trip down to Nullawil. Nice and early the Under 14s got a mixture of cloudy, sunny and raining all in a game. Nullawils Under 14s finished out winners of the game at the final mark the scoreboard reading Nullawil 13.13 (91) to Hay 1.0 (6). Better players for Nully were Tiger Vearing, Max Fawcett, Tynan Perry, Brody Kelly, Rhett Hogan and Chase Poyner.

With Hay being on top of the Under 17s ladder, Nully knew they had to on their game if they had any chance of getting over the line and they were with Nully finishing on top of the Lions, 12.17 (89) to Hay 4.5 (29). Best players for the Maroons were Charlie Fawcett, Dude Kelly, Sol Kelly, Tynan Perry, Will Allan and Jason Box.

The reserves a very one sided game with a couple of Nully boys chucked the lions jumper on for the day. With a big score of 29.15 (189) Hay were kept to just 1.1 (7). Matt Poyner had his kicking boots on with 9 through the big sticks with Matt Hayward and Shane Barker with 4 majors each aswell. Best players were Royce Free, Matt Poyner, Matt Hayward, Mitch Barry ,Lachlan Braine and Aidan McGrath.

I’m a highly contested game, the Lions came out running and tackling hard to try to Nully under the the pressure abit. But Nully were able to handle the lions gameplay to come out of top by a heathy margin, with the scoreboard reading Nullawil 24.15 (159) to Hay 5.8 (38). With Mitch Farmer and Andrew Oberdorfer unavailable for Saturdays match some new targets up forward had to control the scoring side with main Goals kickers Daniel Watts (5), Matt Quigley (4) and Andrew Casey (4). Best players for Nullawil were Jordan Humphreys, Andrew Casey, Josh Bamford, Zac Kelly, Daniel Watts and Kyle Doran.

Next week Nully travel to Macorna to take on the tigers!
