Round 14 Highlight

Week by week the A grade have been very close to a win and had some tough games. Last time we played Quambatook we had a tough contested game and we knew we were up for a challenge this time round. We came out firing right from the first whistle and played to our strengths. We were lucky enough to be up at each break and showed our patience and control of the ball had paid off. Montana was consistent all game and dominated in the ring. While Jasmine was strong up the other end with rounds and intercepts against strong and impressive shooters. Well done to all the girls for a well fought win! It was also a sad day playing our last ever game against Quambatook. We have always had a great time playing Quamby over the years. We wish all the girls and their families the best with wherever they follow next!

Social Club Update

Last week saw the return of the Wandella Ball for the first time since 2019, held out at the Kerang Golf Club. A huge crowd rolled in to see Code 5 put on great show supported at times by Crello, Ziggy & Taylah Collier who we were all glad were singing into unplugged microphones…

Dil Treacy (and the entire Treacy family in general) were disappointed that Sambo didn’t have Espresso Martini ingredients at the golf club. However, highlights of the night included: Knackers having his shirt unbuttoned by 9pm, Nugget wearing a similar outfit to his gameday coaching kit, Wally Keighran’s dancing (& Kym tolerating it) and Tim staying out past 11pm! Ola told me she was feeling very fresh the next morning which is understandable since she had a nap on the bench outside while she waited for her lift home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the night a great success. In particular, Cynth & Raz for their excellent decorating skills! Look forward to doing it all over again next year!

This week we turn our attention to the race track for the return of a another club favourite event, The Wandella Cup! Hope everyone had a quick turnaround at the dry cleaners and can get their party kit ready again for another big evening, maybe Aussie will get the memo this week that bucket hats aren’t formal wear… Happy racing everyone.
