Up into NSW for round 10 with host Moulamien putting on a great day.
Our 4ths returned to the winners list with a huge victory. Ryleigh Wilkinson returned from injury and Riley Carse and Chase Coulter teamed up well through the middle. Charlie Toohey found the big sticks often.
Award Winners: Harrison Maher (Kerang Electronics), Angus McDonald (Toohey Farms), Darcy Strange (Riversdale Farm) Farms), Bear Bangay & Kobie Teasdale (Lake Charm Salt), Dustie
Thomson (Canteen Voucher), Evan McNeil (Beanie)
The 3rds game was a cracker, a great start by the boys had them in front at quarter time, although Moula came back hard and looked to be taking the ascendancy. A key move of Chase Coulter to Full Back created a contest each time and along with Sam Copland’s dominance all over the ground saw the Blues come home with a wet sail and take out the game. Sealed with a great roving goal by Angus McDonald, his second for the game.
Award Winners: Ryleigh Wilkinson (McKnight & Bray), Lachie Maher (Nethercote Farms), Dylan Maher (D&J Hein), Sam Copland (Morrow Socks), Free Khongphueng (AB Building)
Our 2’s were back into competitive games this week and a strong performance was seen across the ground, Moula were able to gain the services of some senior players from elsewhere to make it a real competitive game. Simon Morton was best adjudged on ground and was well supported by Josh Bray, Chris Hunter and Dave Toohey.
Award Winners: Simon Morton (Greg Dickson), & Josh Bray & Chris Hunter (Car Wash)
A slow start to the match cost the seniors the game, giving them a 5 goal headstart is not ideal. After that initial 10minutes, our boys played well and were probably the better team, running out of time to make up that poor start. Mick Grant was colossal down back and Tom Hetherington was a target up forward at the other end.
Award Winners: Darcy Grant (Royal Hotel), Nathan Morrow (Mystic Park Hotel).

Under 14’s didn’t quite get the win a fortnight ago but the girls still played a great game. Maddie Walle (Harvey/Laursen $10) and Evie McKnight (AB Building $5) continue to lead the team well each week, directing the play at either end of the court. Freya Kennedy (Most discipline) and Macy Bray (McDonalds) were also admirable performers.
B reserve had a rather big win but will be looking forward to welcoming back a full list of players this week. Teish Nethercote (Solid collective) was dominant under the post all day, Sarah Copland (Gray’s bakery) played a great attacking game through the middle and Em O’Toole (Coaches award) has stepped back in like she hasn’t missed a beat after joining at the mid point of the season.
B grade had a bit of a tussle, seems to be a common theme over the last month or two, close starts but the girls manage to pull away at the right time to take the win. They really were made to work for this one with Moulamein coming out strong. Ashea Bujdoso (Scissors) was strong and steady up the court which was needed in a close game while Teish Nethercote (Little Shoe Shop) shone in goals, stepping up a grade and presenting beautifully.
The A grade game saw us against 6th place on the ladder but the Moulamein girls came out strong and made us work for every goal. The defensive duo of Kayla Casey (Pam’s award) and Chloe Adams (TWCM) had the task of shutting down a handy goal circle and they managed to do their job effectively to give us plenty of opportunities in attack and put down another handy win.
Tonight sees our annual netball function where we will be holding the Murrabit Olympics with all you can eat casseroles and also dessert. We hope to see many faces there at the end of the days play.
