Un 14.5 Football:

Well the boys were up and firing early. Competitive contests with a slippery ball but our determination and team play shone through. The boys through the middle worked hard and found ways to bring the ball forward. Cooper, Borden, and Will worked hard and Jaxon was brilliant in his tasked roll. Hayden up forward and Jack down back kept structure throughout the spine. Taylor up forward was too classy for his opponent with four goals.

A very disappointing day at Mactown. We didn’t play as well as we should and it cost us a win. We need to start playing four quarters of footy again. We will bounce back and get that winning feeling again. Best work Ethan, Kally and Jackson. Go Tiges.

Seniors:

We faced Ultima today at home. The boys were keen off a close game against Quamby. They settled in early and over the ball well. Troy Parker kicked 5 and Josh Walters kicked 4. Kids, Hunter and Xavier working well in the middle. Greens moved forward and bagged one. Get on the Tiggie train! We’re coming!!

12/U - Super-impressive effort by the team yesterday with some excellent skills shown in leading & passing down the court.  The defenders linked with mids and then our goalies finished it off in the circle. The improvement from last time we played Ultima was so encouraging – super-proud. Abbey (Tiff Bartram award) and Grace (MMWP award) were excellent in their footwork and understanding their roles on the court.

14s - The u14’s came out firing with a strong first quarter -Watching the game, we saw a few areas we can work on to strengthen our team. Stay positive girls. We would like to thank Makenna Thompson who stepped up to fill in from F-troop.  Scores were Macorna 36 - 55 Ultima

17 – We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we were ready to give it our all. It was a defensive game with both teams putting a lot of pressure on their opponents down the court. Eb, Sham, Ang & Maddy H were a force in defence getting plenty of intercepts and turnovers. The mid courters in Gracie, Hannalee & Rosie had some great feeds into the ring. With the goalies, Tahlia and Madz having some beautiful shots at goal.

B res - Our defenders worked overtime all game with many turnovers but unfortunately we just couldn't convert them into goals and ended up going down by 6 at the final whistle. Kylie Rowe was BOC with a brilliant game at GK, with too many rebounds to count and great use of the ball coming out of defence. Jacinta had a great game at both ends of the court in WA then in WD, come away with 2nd best.

A grade played a beautiful game against Ultima where all our work is finally starting to click and we are gelling magnificently as a team. Everyone is playing a role and rewards are coming our way. Our win on Saturday put us in 4th place and we are determined to hold our spot. Em Wish was incredible, played a real stand out captains game to earn her best on court and her sister Kaitlyn was equally as impressive.

B grade came out firing and in a similar tale to A grade, are continuing to gel as a team and bond on the court. We had a great lead all day and the Roos just couldn’t chase us down.. Lee Hardie stood up for us in defence playing a blinder in GD, getting clean intercepts, and showing the way as captain. She was well supported by Sherri Sutherland who hassled and hassled her opponent all game. So proud of you girls as we rise up the ladder!
