We eagerly await the start of the 2022 season with the hope that we will see a full uninterrupted season.
The club has been active over the summer period aiming to increase the mid field rotations and solidify options both forward an back.
We have also had a great Cod Challenge last month with close to 300 competitors across both adult and junior sections of the competition. Plenty of fish caught which also helps!
Our 4ths coach Pete McDonald has had the squad training well and aims to continue to improve upon last years form and play finals this year. Brent McKnight has a strong core group of players in the 3rds with McNeil, McKnight, Shea and the Leahy’s all a year older and developing into important players for the future.
The midday show will once again be lead by Nick Hein for another season of entertaining football. A fierce competitor, Nick will ensure the lads are up and ready come round 1.
Mick and Leigh are keen to turn a few of our close losses last year into wins with the recruitment of key plays across all lines. Along with the development of our local talent, it shapes to be a competitive season across all grades.
Over at the netball courts our junior numbers are excellent with last years junior coaches all agreeing to go around again, Angela Morton for the under 12’s, Jess Bray with the under 14’s and Erica Cummins doing the under 17’s with help from Emily Copland who has to sit the year out after doing her ACL at training at the end of last year.
In the seniors we have finally convinced Sarah Perry to take on the top job and she is well and truly up to the role and has a lot of respect from the playing group. Lisa Morrow is continuing on with the B reserve again this year. We hope the seniors can continue their 2021 form into this season and look forward to seeing the teams develop over the coming weeks as playing settle in.
Our first home game for the year with some entertainment from Trav Mac on guitar, hopefully celebrating a few wins too!
