U12’s
Great team effort by all the girls on the court this week, winning 35-2. All girls were able to play different positions to what they are used to and did a great job adapting! Both Kiara and Belle stood out with their defensive skills and Ella and Jolie got the team off to a good start by shooting accurately. Awesome win today girls.
U14’s
These girls played a great game considering significant changes were made each quarter with a different 7 taking the court. Elahna and Chloe were given a challenge of different positions but did exactly what was asked of them, making them very deserving award winners. 40-21
U16’s
The girls had another tough game this week playing 4th on the ladder. They had a very strong and consistent first half but unfortunately down by 20. Two awards this week went to Charli Lovell and Chloe Twentyman who worked extremely well in the ring together. The girls know what we need to work on and we will continue to do that in the coming weeks ahead.
U18’s
U18’s played their best game of the season and came out winners over a strong Balranald side. The combination of Eva and liv in goals made the Balranald defence work over time. Amity and Bridgett combined well in attacking positions and delivered the ball into the goal ring well. Luca worked hard to put pressure on the ball outside the Balranald attacking my ring and the defensive due of Emily and Hovo applied great pressure in the ring and turned over possession at the most crucial time of the game. An amazing team effort. Best on court went to Eva. Coach’s awards went to liv and Bridgett.
B res
B Res girls played a ripper game this weekend with a new addition in the ring, Lacey Taylor. The girls worked hard to maintain a solid lead. Best on was Lacey Taylor and Lily Chap
B Grade
B grade girls had a tough game against the Roos ending the game with a draw on the last whistle! We had a few changes down the court Due to one of our girls doing a injury! Best on court went to tenay fellows and coach’s award went to Toni Bolton.
A Res
A Res girls went down this weekend in a tough match against the Roos! Across the court, the girls had some strong match ups but couldn’t keep up with the defensive pressure from Balranald! Best of court to Jacinta Siciliano and Mel Rushton who stepping back into the defence end for the first time when Coach Skye Kelly went off injured.
A Grade
The A grade girls put up a mighty fight against the leading side in the league. In the end we went down by 8, however came off the court very proud of our efforts. Across the court all players played their role and we were able to see some beautiful passages of play. Best players went to co-captains Tessa Demaria and Jaimee Beasy.
U12’s
The under 12 made the trek to the home of the Roos. It was a fantastic game from both teams with nothing left on the park. We welcomed back Tyreece and Seth who gave us great drive through the middle of the ground Best player was Zac Charles, whilst Mohi Gill snagged a great goal after selling some Candy and Dakota continued to improve with 3 efforts in a row to help her team. Well done tigers on a fantastic game, and can the parents please get their kids to learn the song and to sing it loud!!!!
U14.5’s
Going into this week our crew were set a few things to work on all together as a team and they executed these well. Each week we are improving and heading in the right direction and continue the hard work which is a credit to the team. Also well done to all who worked hard to snag a goal right near the end of the game.
Best Players: Ollie Alderuccio, Mitch Bannam, Jed Young, Blake Mazza & Shaun Kirby
Colts
The Colts boys this week had their second win for the season. The boys got off to a flyer in the first and didn’t stop all day. Balranald have a lot of fight and tried hard but the Tigers were just a bit strong on the day. A best on the ground performance by Adam Saunders with 9 goals was a fantastic effort. Well done lads.
Best players: Adam Saunders, Charlie King, Jye Hogan, Will Rush, Noah Starrs & Ollie Alderuccio
Reserves
Round 8 and we travelled to Balranald, the first half of game beginning a bit slow till the boys found their feet after getting a rev up at half time. Buttsy having a great game popping up everywhere and covering a lot of the ground earnt him best on. A great game from young Xavier Johnson stepping up from colts for his first game in the reserves and standing his ground well. Kruges went well for 4 quarters in the ruck. Skidda kicking 5 goals followed by Jordy, Nooch and Hubba kicking 2 each, Buttsy and Adam Hendy 1 each.
Best players: Buttsy, Hubba, Josh Hendy, Kruges, Mertzy and Skidda
Seniors
The boys started a bit slowly at Balranald on Saturday however I feel it might have been the pressure that the Roos applied and we had to work our way through a rugged first half and went in at half time with an 8 point lead. The second half was a different game as the run from our boys really opened up the game. A 12 goals second half seen the boys come home with a comfortable 11 goals win. Doey cracked in hard all day, Angus had a huge job and stuck to it all day and Patty showed us some glimpses of what we can expect for the rest of the year.
Best players: Doey, Butters, Jye, Arny, Patty and Robbie.
