Club Notes
& Team Lists

Today we head to Woorinen to take on the tigers in what is shaping as a great challenge for most of our teams.
It was a fiery clash in the seniors with both players & support staff trying their best to get the boys over the line. Peter Rothacker continued his consistent start to the year & along with Jack Spinks were a couple of the standouts in what ended up being a tough day on the field. Best Players – Jack Spinks, Peter Rothacker, Shane Foley, Alex Powell, Zac Nichols & Johnny Wardle.
A few new recruits provided some extra enthusiasm to the ressies who came home strongly in the last quarter to only go down by a couple of goals in the end. Best Players – Wame Quauvutu, Sam Rokotuiloma, Isikeli Bari, Cooper Fox & James Downing.
The colts battled hard all game & to their credit managed to hit the scoreboard each quarter. Best Players – Rhylee Taylor, Jobhi Plant, Connor Hazlett, Jordan Caddy, Ashby Rogers & Kal Hazlett.
The U14’s had a tough day against a strong demons outfit. Best Players – Connor Hazlett, Campbell Fisher, Anders Plant, Charlie Elford, Brayden Caddy & Billy Kentish.
Plenty of goals were scored in the U12’s with everyone putting in a great contribution.
Netball Notes:
A Grade - had a close game and a 7 goal lull in the second quarter was the difference. It was wonderful to have Peyton and Amy back on the court and proved what an asset they are to the team. We were lucky to have Jade from Inspire Sport coach our team for the day and we are looking forward to putting her feedback into practice over the coming weeks.
A Reserve - A 25 goal victory to A Res this week. Looks like we’re moving on up to 7th on the ladder! Emily Hickey kept her opponent to just two goals for the second half, while Elysia Wheadon had the ball on a string through the ring. Very deserving award winners.
B Grade - Another tough week for the girls but after some much appreciated guidance by Jade from Inspire Sport we were able to put up a fight and make some changes. Looking forward to working on those going forward. Amber played a strong defence in WD getting her hands to quite a few balls.
B Reserve - started off on a positive note with lots of determination were very hungry for a win. We welcomed back the inclusion of Jessi Gleeson for the day which is always a bonus. The girls fought hard and were only down by 2 at half time. Unfortunately, the girls couldn’t capitalise on the hard work done in defence and ended up with a loss. Both Amanda and Lisa dominating the game in defence were awarded the award this week.
Under 16s - Our under 16s girls put on another dominant performance to win 61-5 against NNWU. Keisha adapted her game taking on the feedback given. Special thanks to Jade from Inspire Sport for her guidance throughout the game.
12 & Under - Our 12 and Under girls had a strong win against a tall NNWU side. Tess was strong in defence taking numerous two handed intercepts. Beau worked well at leading into space to support her goalers.
On a social front anyone wishing to participate in the rotating dinner after our home game at Manang on June 18th needs to have their names into Billy or respond to the Facebook post by Monday 6th June.
