It was a tough trip down the road to Kerang, with the footballers coming up against some very good Kerang sides. In the netball, we fared a lot better, with some very good wins.

This week we host Mallee Eagles and I’m sure everyone will be keen to show improved efforts. Good luck to everyone.

FOOTBALL RESULTS

Seniors:

NNWU 6.4.40 defeated by Kerang 26.21.177

After an impressive showing in Round 1, reality hit hard against a well drilled and talented Kerang side, who completely outplayed us in the first half. In the second half, we lifted our intensity, playing much more competitively. The team has taken some learnings out of the game and will be looking to perform better this week against the Eagles.

Reserves:

NNWU 2.1.13 defeated by Kerang 20.24.144

A very hard game for the reserves against a very good side. However, with a few more runs under their belts and a some players returning to the side, I’m sure there will be some much improvement ahead. It was great to see our Colts players Mitch & Ethan helping out and playing well.

Colts:

After a tough week with players caught up with the health and safety protocols associated with COVID, along with a few with the flu and other injuries, we had 5 players available from the first week. As such, there was no game for the Colts. Hopefully we are all back on deck this week.

Under 14.5:

NNWU 3.7.25 defeated by Kerang 17.12.114

The Under 14.5’s came up against a very strong Kerang side who played very good team football. Despite the scoreline, the team continued to try hard and worked on the things that they have been training at, playing some good passages of team footy.

Our youngest footballers played in the later timeslot and seemed to enjoy it. They moved the ball keep and played together well.

The netballers had a good day on the courts with 3 wins, while a couple of the losses were pretty close games. Lets keep up the good performances this week against Mallee Eagles.

It was great to see so many who headed back to the Swan Hill Club for meals after the game.

This week, we have tea upstairs and the annual Family Games night. It is always a heap of fun, so round up your family (or make a new one) and join in the activities.
