Club Notes
& Team Lists

It was a beautiful day for sport and our first home game for Season 2022. Our oval looked magnificent and our high standard of home made goodies in the canteen were as delicious as always. Unfortunately our club was hit hard by Covid this week with 6 of our senior players out and many of our officials. We put out a plea for people to help out and we were so proud of how many people put up their hand to do their bit extra. From dropping in to help Maree in the canteen during busy periods, to umpiring or scoring an extra game, to driving our bus for the Progressive Dinner (Thanks Nicko) and all the other 75 jobs it takes to run a home game.

Our senior boys won an even and hard fought match by 11 points. Some great goal kicking by new recruit Sam Dunstan very well assisted by Ayden Tessari, Toby Sheehan, Harry Allen, Harry McGregor, Jack Shannahan, and Zac O’Meara – all having a good day out. Our Ressies won by 18 points. Coach Ben and Luke said BOG were Jacob O’Meara, Josh Bibby, Brad Rogers, Todd Day-Henry, Nick Bibby and Aaron Gaut. Coach Shannahan said the Colts were beaten by a combination side on the day but did not stop trying. Best players were Bryce Baskin, Brooklyn Whitla, Liam Edwards, Thomas Dunn, Liam Drummond, Harrison Stanyer. Our Under 14.5’s had a tough day but continued to try their best. Coach Ryan awarded the BOG to Blake Wright, Charlie Kingwill, Archie McCombe, Kade Wells, Jobe Roberts, Max Leguier. Coach Crackers best players in the Under 12’s were Deakin Wright, Knox Roberts, Jimmy Kingwill, Levi Plonsker, Bo Brown, Hamish Credlin, Tony Fishwick and Chayse Worner,

SOCIAL EVENTS

Kickstarting our social season was the Rotating Dinner. This year it was hosted at our very own clubrooms and ending up at the Golf Club for dancing. It was a great night with many fun games to be played at entrée and mains- Fingers, 2 truths and a lie, Telestrations, Bok Bok to name a few. Thank you to Claire and Meg Allen for organising this event and having to be so flexible as people were pulling out due to Covid. Our next social function is Dinner at the Swan Hill Club after we play Nyah on April 23rd then our GALA REUNION for the 1952 and 1992 Premierships on April 30th (Versus Woorinen at home). We have a player coming all the way from WA to attend so it should be a great catch up.
