ROO-WRITE-UP
Little has changed since the end of last year’s COVID ridden season although we have continued improvements to both our football and netball departments and our facilities. Crowbar and Bronwyn remain as Presidents of the football and netball groups and are ably supported by their committees.
Seniors:
Ben Mahon is in his second year as Senior coach and will be sharing his duties with Jydon Neagle. We welcome Jydon and his family to Balranald and wish them all the best. Some new and old faces will be also welcomed to the Club as we look forward to a successful season.
Reserves
Quinton Davis is also into his second season of coaching and he appears to have not lost to much hair after his stint last year. Losing half the season to COVID may have helped. We also look at adding numbers to the Ressies and looking at a vast improvement to previous seasons.
Colts:
Gavin “Doris: Campbell has enthusiastically taken on the Colts coaching role after a few years in limbo. We seem to have good numbers and the boys are also looking forward to the season.
The Juniors:
Josh Hodgson is coach of the Under 14’s whilst Steve Johnstone will coach the Scrubbers. We do have the minimal numbers in both grades and should see some good football from these teams.
Netballers:
Our netballers ably lead by our A Grade coach Jess Parry have had a big pre-season and are looking forward to the year.
They welcome the new players and families into the Club and wish each Coach and their teams all the best.
Social Scene:
Tyntynder Game – Today – we will have tea in the Clubrooms after the game and music will be supplied by the geriatrics “The Overdrafts” – a great way to start the season.
15th April – Good Friday appeal at the Club – the BFNC players and supporters have been played their role in supporting this day and we urge everyone to do the same this year.
16th April - Balranald Goat Races – Easter Saturday – The highlight of the Balranald Easter weekend and we are set to have another huge day. There has been a lot of work put into running this year’s day as usual and we thank all the helpers and in particular the goat sponsors,
23rd April – Homebush Rodeo – Another huge day on the Balranald sporting calender and if not working there we hope we are supporting this day and after last year’s magnificent day we hope it is bigger and better this year.
Canteen:
Anyone wishing to assist in anyway please catch up with Dee.
Thursday night meals – menu:
Meals have started up again and we hope they are as popular as they were back last season.
Memberships & Sponsorships:
See Lisa Jolliffe to arrange your memberships for this year and Aish Gillbee for your sponsorship needs.
Reserved Parking:
Reserved parking is being kept to a limit this year and will be offered only to those that had parking last year. We will also be asking that those who do not sit with their car to free up their parking.
Today we host Tyntynder to begin our 2022 campaign. We wish all our football and netball teams the best.
